I have used this machine for years and it has proved very satisfactory. It does not have a blade guard. I found it to get in my way most of the time. I have 2 extra sets of knives for the machine which I am including. I've up graded to an 8 inch machine and do not have room for both machines in my shop. I've included a picture of a kitchen (One of 5) I made using this machine so you can see the joints it is capable of.
