HP/Agilent 11896A Polarization State Controller The 11896A Polarization State Controller now with L-band capability provides a wide operating range (980 nm & 1250-1640 nm) for measuring optical components. The 11896A adjusts optical polarization and not power. Its optical fiber loop design provides all states of polarization with extremely small optical insertion-loss variations. This performance combination maximizes measurement accuracy for power- sensitive applications like polarization dependent loss and gain. This is because the uncertainty provided by the polarization controller is minimized. The unit has manual, auto-scan and GPIB control.
