General Microwave Model D1958 is an 8 to 18 GHz (6 to 18 GHZ extended range) Absorptive Modulator. It is a PIN Diode attenuator/modulator with greater than octavebandwidth performance. It provides a minimum attenuation of 60 dB with fall time of 20 nsec max and a rise time of 1.5 µsec max. for attenuation steps of 10 dB or more. Maximum insertion loss of 3.0 dB (to 15.9 GHz); 4.0 dB (from 16 to 18 GHz) Maximum VSWR of 1.8 (to 15.9 GHz); 2.0 (from 16 to 18 GHz). Attenuation range of 60 dB. Has a hybridized driver circuit consisting of two shunt arrays of PIN diodes and two quadrature hybrid couplers, which provides a nominal transfer function of 10 dB/V.
