This is a new, old stock Best Lock padlock, Model 1B712M, now obsolete. It contains the old Best Lock elliptical logo on the front and back from the days when the Best family still owned and operated the company. The case is drilled for a chain clevis. The brass case is 1 1/2 inches wide by 1 3/4 inches tall and 27/32 inch thick. The 7/32 shackle (hardened steel and multiple-plated for wear and corrosion resistance) is 1 1/4 inches tall. This padlock has one of the smallest diameter shackles Best Lock ever made. Included will be a Best core (7 pin, F keyway), one operating key and control key. both original Best keys. This lock is over 20 years old has a few storage-related scuffs and tarnishing. Best locks are typically only available to corporations and institutions.
