The 3586B meets North American Bell standards. While FDM systems are fading away, the 3586B is still an outstanding general purpose wave analyzer. The 3586B's wide frequency coverage allows measurements to be made at both voice channel and carrier frequencies. Microprocessor control adds many ease-of-use features such as amplitude offset measurements of tone or noise levels in units of dBm, dBrnC, or dBpW. Convenience features include simultaneous analog and digital level displays, precise frequency setting with HP's fractional N synthesized local oscillator, and accurate frequency counter measurements. Option 001 75 and 124 Ohm input connectors are changed to WECO types. Option 004 High Stability Oscillator 50 Hz to 32.5 MHz frequency range with 0.1 Hz resolution Measurement range of +20 to –130 dBm with .01 dB resolution 20, 400, and 2000 Hz filters or Wideband measurement < -116 dBm noise floor with 2000 Hz filter 75 Ohm or 10 Kohm unbalanced input 124, 135 or 600 Ohm balanced inputs Condition: Unit will be Reconditioned and Performance Tested to meet manufacturers specifications. Clean unit inside and out. Physically inspected, hardware re-torqued, connectors treated with a preservative, controls and switches lubricated as appropriate, power supply electrolytics tested, battery replaced. Burned in for 72 hours and then performance tested. All knobs and switches are in good condition. What do our grades mean?
