Each sale is for one 500-piece factory box of Sharp GP3A206RCK slot detector module. We have 3 versions of this part. The only difference appears to be the connector style and orientation. The bottom-mounted 5-position 1mm-pitch FFC sockets are easy enough to remove and you could insert wires into the vacated holes. However, the IR assembly has pins on both sides as well as plastic barbs protruding through the PCB. If you are able to remove the IR assembly, the actual emitter and detector are molded into the plastic. These are best used as they come. The PCB also contains a 0.1µF decoupling capacitor and a 150Ω resistor in series with the emitter.
