Pad printing can reproduce practically anything that can be photoengraved, for example very fine lettering and 200 line halftone. It reproduces images with such fidelity that film positives must be of superb quality, especially with four color process printing. The shapes and textures that pad printing can print are almost limitless. Recesses such as doll's eyes, and dimpled surfaces of a golf ball, irregular glassware, parting lines, sinks in injection-molded parts, die-cast toys, soft blister packs, even walnuts have been successfully printed, and almost always with standard pads and inks.
