To open the safe all you have to do is place your finger on the finger sensor and then turn the handle - or - enter you pin and turn the handle. The SecuRam requires 1, 9v battery that usually needs changed every six months to 1 year (can be replaced very easily from outside the safe). This safe lock can be installed onto almost any safe with a standard lock footprint including commercial safes and residential gun safes. I have installed them onto the following safes, Liberty, Cannon, Amsec, Gardall, Cobalt, Hamilton, Remington, McGunn and many, many others. This is one of the easiest locks to install and can probably be installed by anyone with mechanical ability, but I do highly suggest hiring a local locksmith or safe technician to install it for you. 1 Year Manufacturers Warranty Included! Installation Instructions Included! If battery dies, the codes are retained in the lock and when a new battery is installed your code will open the lock. The codes are stored in the lock and not the keypad so there is no risk of spiking the keypad to open the safe. This is a high security lock and is made to be as secure as mechanical (dial) combination locks if not more secure.
