Newport laser burn-in rack system with 128 channel Chip on Submount Dual Output Laser Diode Driver (LDD) modules provide 128-Channels @ 1,500 mA of current and a compliance voltage of 3.5 volts. Both Constant Power (APC) and Constant Current (ACC) modes are available. Constant power mode operation uses a front facet silicon photodiode, which is part of the test fixture. Forward current, forward voltage, and front facet power are all measured at a resolution of 16-bits. Removable fixtures are designed to hold Pirelli's 980nm chip on submount laser diode for the purposes of bum-in. Spring loaded "pogo pins" secure each chip~submount device to a temperature-controlled plate and provide electrical connection with the anode and cathode contact pads. Sixteen (16) laser diodes are loaded into a fixture. Two (2) peltier coolers control the fixture plate temperature. A large area silicon photo diode collects the front facet beam of each laser diode. Each photodiode is angled 8 degrees to prevent back reflections to the laser diode. The temperature between each set of diode is independently measured and recorded for increased temperature accuracy at the COC device.
