Optically clear, rigid material, resistant to some chemicals like inorganic alkalies such as amonia and diluted acids like sulfuric acid. Acrylic has a light transmittance of 92%, is clearer than glass and will not turn yellow. Acrylic is less than 50% as heavy as glass and 43% as heavy as aluminum.
