Anchor brand Premium quality 5356 aluminum MIG wire. Methodically manufactured to meet the requirements of AWS A5.10 5356 is the most commonly used aluminum filler alloy because of its good strength and its good feeding tendencies as MIG wire. Hold a piece of 5356 and 4043 next to each other, 5356 is stiffer. Its designed to weld 5,000 series structural alloys and 6,000 series extrusions (essentially, anything but castings because of castings high silicon content). It isn't suitable for service temperatures exceeding 150 degrees F (corrode at higher temps). For components that are to be anodized after welding, 5356 is recommended over 4043, which turns black when anodized. (kudo's to Lincoln Electric for this blurb). This wire is manufactured either in the U.S. or Europe (depending on run). If they start substituting Chinese or Taiwanese stuff, I won't sell it anymore.
