The answer is, "Maybe they're really more expensive than we are." Rare 0.01 ohm steps (to over 1k ohms with five decades) make this resistance box a valuable addition to your equipment. Just calibrated by our NIST-traceable lab, this is a used (but in excellent condition) Shallcross decade box, a very respected manufacturer of electronic equipment. Item is guaranteed to be within Shallcross specifications, and a Certificate of Calibration is included, showing calibration date, standard(s) used, etc. Low zero resistance and accurate resistance settings-please see the pictures which shows various readings on a calibrated HP 3456A DMM. Minor dings and scratches here and there, but nothing that affects operation. Internally this unit is very clean and all switches work smoothly with good "feel." Compare with new units with similar specifications costing $2000.00 or more!
