* Transmission /Receive Frequencies and Level measurement
One basic application is to transmit a frequency over a pair of wires. Typically another test set is needed to measure the frequency at the far end of the cable. This function of transmitting frequencies includes a number of ways this can be done:
* Fixed Mode: This is a single fixed frequency being sent at a fixed level.
* 3-Tone Slope Mode: This mode sent frequency 404, 1004, and 2804 Hz at 5 seconds interval with a fixed level.
* Sweep Mode: This sweeps a certain range of frequencies with a user configurable start and stop frequencies, a step, a dwell time, and a fixed level.
* Quiet Mode: This places a quiet termination on the circuit.
Another basic application is to receive a frequency and perform a level measurement. This strictly shows received frequency and level.
Noise and Signal to Noise ratio Measurement, and Impulse Noise Measurement
VF-TIMS module can perform Noise and Signal to Noise ratio measurement, and Impulse Noise measurement with different filters placed on receiver. These filters are C-message, 3kHz-Flat, and 15kHz-Flat. This test is typically done on one of the cable with a Transmit source on the other end of the pair, and this test can be done either 2-wire or 4-wire cable.
Call Placing for Analog circuit testing:
VF-TIMS module allows you to place a call on a 2 wire analog POTS circuit with selected dial mode (DTMF, DP, or MF dialing). This will be done connected to a switch in a central office where digits are sent and you can talk and listen with the test on line.
