BIG-SHEPPARD MODEL #CV50-DT52-4.530 High alloy material (Chrome, Molybdenum, Manganese) hardened to 60RC assures rigidity and long life of tool holder. The taper shank is ground to .00003" surface finish and has 90% surface taper contact with spindle, which provides high accuracy, rigidity and longer life for the machine spindle and tap. All surfaces except ground surfaces are coated with anti-rust treatment. Compact design suitable for all Machining Centers. Torque limiter is preadjusted for suitable torque for each tapping size, enabling safe tapping for blind holes. Torque can be adjusted from high to low by loosening socket set screw and moving the adjusting ring to the marked position. The Auto Tapper Type DT provides two torque ranges, which are indicated on the body by "L" for low torque and "H" for high torque. It is recommended to start with the low torque setting and then switch to the high torque setting when torque reduces after a long period of use. The long life of this Auto Tapper can be further extended by changing the internal torque rubbers and clutch keys when they become worn. The TCD Floating Tap Collets have tension/compression and can be changed very easily with the quick change design. The TCD Floating Tap Collets are available in the following sizes: 1-1/2", 1-3/4", 1-7/8", 2", 1-1/4 (pipe tap), 1-1/2" (pipe tap).
