This is a used Pratt & Burnerd 6" self centering 3 jaw chuck. This chuck has 3 top reversible jaws that are standard 2 peice American tongue and groove This is a steel body chuck that has a 1.810" hole going thru the main body of the chuck. The model # on this chuck is 1270-01715 The body height is 3.00" not including the chuck jaws and the mounting plate. The over all height of the chuck and all components is 6.00" The major body diameter is 6.250" The mounting plate on this chuck is a straight shank arbor that is 2.500" diameter x 1.00" tall with a .500" wall thickness with a 1.615" thru hole You can change out the mounting plate. There is 3 socket head capscrews that go from the chuck face thru the chuck and screw into the mounting plate. The mounting plates available fit types A, D, and L spindles It requires a 3/8" square chuck key The exact weight of this chuck is 22.8lbs Maximum RPM on this chuck is 3400 The face of this chuck has many dings that are just surface deep. The jaws adjust real smooth. The over all condition of this chuck is very good. The jaws do not need to be replaced. Pratt Burnerd has been in business since the early 1900's. They were the two largest chuck manufacturering companies from Britain that merged in 1954 and they are now one on the world's largest manufacturer of chucks.
